Senior Social Worker - Intensive Community Mental Health Recovery (ICMHR)

This program is specifically an E-RANGE program, which will allow for one of the social workers to work specifically with the homeless population in ensuring services, while the other social worker will work with a population with stable housing. The incumbent will provide intensive case management services to assigned veterans and significant others, consistent with the goals and methods of ICMHR and the VA Mental Health Initiative and with all relevant Medical Center policies and procedures. Intensive case management services are characterized by assertive outreach, individualized treatment planning, multidimensional orientation, and intensive delivery of services in working with those with serious mental illness. The following are duties that are assigned, but not limited to:
Frequent, direct contact with patients to provide therapy and support. Focus on strengthening the patients ability to address acute and chronic behavior. Provision of continuity of care with the framework of ICMHR. Outreach and assertive provision of services to treatment resistant patients. Mobilization of environmental and organizational supports to include family members, professional and other interested parties. Actively involved in readmission decisions. Completes clinical documentation according to medical center standards. Work with other clinical programs and product lines to assist in the continued care of patients. Meet with VA, community. and professional organizations and individuals as needed. Work Schedule:

Master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Licensure:
Persons hired or reassigned to social worker positions in the GS-185 series in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the masters level. English language proficiency. Social Workers must be proficient in spoken and written English. Physical requirements. Applicants must meet the appropriate physical requirements for this position. Grade Determinations:
In addition to the basic requirements above, at the GS-12 level, applicants must have at least two years of experience post advanced practice clinical licensure and should be in a specialized area of social work practice of which one year must be equivalent to the GS-11 grade level. Senior social workers are experts in their specialized area of practice. Senior social workers must be licensed or certified by a state at the advanced practice level which include an ASWB advanced generalist or clinical examination, unless they are grandfathered by the state in which they are licensed to practice at the advanced practice level (except for licenses issued in California, which administers its own clinical examination for advanced practice). Senior social workers may have certification or other post-masters training from a nationally recognized professional organization or university that includes a defined curriculum/ course of study and internship or equivalent supervised professional experience in a specialty. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate the professional KSAs below:
KSA 1 - Knowledge of program coordination and administration which includes consultation, negotiation, and monitoring. KSA 2 - Knowledge and ability to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program. KSA 3 - Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program. KSA 4 - Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s). KSA 5 - Ability to provide training, orientation, and guidance within clinical practice. Licensure/Certification. Individuals assigned as social worker program coordinator must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure. Current, valid US driver's license is required for this position. Community work experience preferred. References:

Must be able to walk/stand for at least 8 hours a day; ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously; far vision correctable in one eye to 20/20 and to 20/40 in the other; ability to distinguish basic colors; hearing (aid permitted); clear speech; will be outside and inside; possible excessive noise, intermittent; work closely with others. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
